Q: What is a CCNSG Passport?

A: A CCNSG Passport, which is also known as the SCATS Card, stands for Client Contractor National Safety Group (CCNSG). It is a credit card sized plastic passport that major Clients require you to have as a Contractor or site visitor and show before getting on site, it is part of their site safety policy.

Q: How do I go about getting one?

A: You have to go on a 2 day Training Course with an approved CCNSG Training Provider. There are some short multiple choice tests which you have to pass on the course, at the end you will get the plastic passport with your details, a photo of you and the passport number that is unique to you.

Q:  What else do I need to know about this Passport?

A: Generally this is very much liked by the power industries and construction in the UK, though other industries may also accept it. But it is always best to check with the client site you are going on which passport they require you to have. After 3 years you have to sit a 1 day renewal course.

A: No problem! On the right hand side of this page there is a link to a short write up of the CCNSG and the other two major passport schemes. Please click it and it will explain your options and help you get the right one you need!
